Wickham History Society was founded in January 1960 that exists to:

  • Gather information about the past history of Wickham and help make it available to all who are interested.
  • Promote the preservation of old buildings, monuments, records, maps and traditions of Wickham.
  • Foster interest in Wickham’s history and historical research more widely through it’s website and publications, arranging lectures, visits and exhibitions.

Wickham Village History Walks are conducted on request from interested organisations, and the Society can provide speakers for your organisation’s meetings.

Society Membership attracts a small annual charge, (currently £6 per annum), and summer visits also attract a small additional charge. A small charge per head is made for village history walks.  Charges are to be paid in advance.  Guests are welcome to attend meetings, (fee – £2 per meeting). Meetings are held in the Wickham Community Centre at 7.30 pm on the first Tuesday of the month, October to December and February to May inclusive, with a variety of guest speakers.

Wickham History Society is continually seeking information about people, buildings and events with a connection to Wickham Village and Wickham Parish, and welcomes suggested contributions to our website.
