Wickham Community Land Trust currently has eight homes – four for rent and four for shared ownership at Houghton Gardens in Wickham. These are for people with a strong family or other connections to Wickham who cannot afford to buy or rent on the open market. Wickham CLT is a charity, run by volunteers, most from Wickham and hopes to be able to provide more homes or local services in the future. We advertise any vacancies on our website, on the Help to Buy South website and on the Parish notice boards and website. We would welcome more Committee Members with an interest in supporting our work (we are a friendly bunch) and also anyone who might be prepared to provide land, a house or flat or support us financially to provide more homes. So far we have invested just over £1m in providing homes for Wickham people, and all that money stays in the village as we pay off the loans – with your help we would like to do more.

We very much appreciate that each and every funeral service must be carried out to your wishes. You can be assured that the same member of staff will discuss your personal wishes throughout, and provide guidance and support to you and the family.
We will ensure that the person who supports you through the arrangements of the funeral, will also conduct the service on the day. Our promise to you is that we will support you both personally and confidentially, either in our funeral home or in the privacy of your own home.
We will not use a call centre to take care of your concerns when our office is closed. This means when you talk to us, you only have to ask once, you will never have to worry that a message will not be passed on. It is most important that you have confidence in the person you are talking to; that they understand you and appreciate how you feel.

Proprietors Frank & Carol Duckworth, have been welcoming guests here since early 1985. Their reputation for fine food and service continues to grow.
It was back in 1985 we started out entertaining our first guests offering a pool table, darts board and outside toilets! Our menu consisted of soup, chilli & steak sandwiches! We’ve come a long way since then, reinventing ourselves and constantly continuing to improve.
Today 30 years on, we serve up to 1,000 delicious meals a week using only fresh produce of the finest quality. Greens is considered one of the best eating establishments in Hampshire.
So what makes us stand out from the competition, and why do over 97% of our customers say they will dine with us again?
There are clearly many reasons, however the most frequently sited are: warm welcome, delicious high quality food, friendly atmosphere, personal and professional service. These core values are central to every single guest visit.
At Greens we recognise the value of your dining experience- and not just in monetary terms. We will do whatever we can to create the very best dining experience for you- anything less is simply not an option. Our first ever tag line is as relevant today as it was 30 years ago.

We are a family run business based in Wickham. We specialize in free range boer goat and kid meat (sometimes also known as Chevron), as well as producing a small quantity of rare breed free range pork.
Our goats are a mixture of dairy and meat breeds. We have crossed our dairy goats with the South African Boer goat to provide us with good meat carcasses. We keep weaner pigs which are reared on surplus milk from the dairy goats.
All the animals are reared on our small farm. They are well cared for during their life with us and we can guarantee the traceability of our meat. The majority are born on the farm but we do bring in some male goat kids from dairy herds in batches of 30 about 3 or 4 times a year that would otherwise be culled out at birth. They are weaned and neutered when we collect them
We use a reputable abattoir and a local licensed butcher for hanging and preparing the meat. Some of the seasonings we use in our range of either goat meat sausages and goat meat burgers or pork sausages are sourced from an organic company, several of which are gluten free. But the majority of seasonings we mix ourselves to our own recipes.
Cooked correctly, boer goat meat can taste like a mild version of lamb when hot or like beef when cold. Boer Kid meat is a tender and succulent meat. It makes a beautiful roast dinner
Meat from older boer goats is similar to mutton and ideal for pot roasts, curries and casseroles.
Boer goat meat has the added advantage of being low in cholesterol, high in iron and ounce for ounce has less saturated fat than chicken and about the same calories. Goat is the ideal meat for the health conscious or people with heart problems.
